Course Description
This course provides foundational knowledge in computer-supported system modeling and simulation approaches. Students will learn key concepts related to systems, models, and simulations and explore fundamental techniques such as Monte Carlo computations, stochastic simulation, and the design of simulation experiments. Various simulation languages will also be introduced. To enhance modeling, analytical thinking, and synthesis skills, students will engage in assignments, projects, and seminars throughout the course.
Course objectives:
Understand Fundamental Concepts: Grasp the basic principles of systems, models, and simulations in computer-supported environments.
Apply Modeling Techniques: Utilize Monte Carlo computations, stochastic simulation, and the design of simulation experiments to analyze and solve problems.
Explore Simulation Languages: Familiarize students with various simulation languages and their applications in modeling complex systems.
Develop Analytical Skills: Enhance students’ analytical thinking and synthesis abilities through practical assignments and projects.
Conduct Simulations: Design, implement, and evaluate simulation experiments to assess system performance and behavior.
Collaborate and Present: Engage in group projects and seminars to foster teamwork and improve communication skills in presenting simulation findings.
